Videos: Making a joint is easy with two-step epoxy bonding

Making a joint is easy with two-step epoxy bonding

The bonding stage is where your project will really start to come together. A combination of good surface preparation and the right adhesive will help make a joint strong. The so-called ‘two-step bonding’ process is the best bonding technique to use in most situations. That’s because it makes the epoxy penetrate the bonding surface to the maximum and removes the risk of ‘resin-starved joints’.

Two-step bonding involves applying epoxy first in a process called ‘wetting out’ then applying thickened epoxy i.e.  a resin/hardener mixture with added epoxy filler. You’ll find the basic two-step bonding techniques demonstrated in this video useful for most types of joint and material.

Two-step bonding really is this simple! See our blog post on why two-step bonding creates a better joint.
