Meet The Maker: Romina Vella
Meet our latest maker! Romina Vella produces exquisite items using Entropy Resins bio-based epoxy. Working for a distributor in Malta supplying Entropy Resins products, COVID hit and soon Romina realised her passion for all things epoxy “I found out that I’m an artist I love Resin art”.
Since getting crafty with epoxy, Romina has found epoxy can be used for. In particular, to restore and make wonderful things. “I have a lot of even countertops, tables, drawers and the beauty is restoring all my furniture. I made my kitchen and tables” The benefit of not throwing furniture away and restoring instead is so satisfying and cost effective too! Alongside restoring furniture, Romina enjoys making geode arts, and orgonite energy pyramids.
We asked Romina, what’s her inspiration behind her projects? “Nature, sea, universe, and Geode Art with real crystals always”.
Aside from getting crafty with epoxy, Romina teaches others about Entropy Resins “I always help them to achieve the results they want.”
We asked Romina her top tips for working with epoxy, preparation is key, epoxy resin is not a fan of humidity, like most things. Ensure to “mix well and don’t use acrylic pigments with epoxy.” Romina’s other tip is if you are sanding, “to always apply another clear coat because if not it will absorb everything”.
Alongside Romina’s passion for epoxy, a passion for has also been found for TikTok, accumulating over thousands of followers and inspiring others to do the same “for me everyone needs a hobby.”
